    • ADS Continuity Type in PCT Families

Often when we file a new US application based on a PCT, we file it as a by-pass continuation rather than a 371 NP entry. In these new US matters, we use case type "Utility: Continuation."

When we generate the ADS, the continuity type for the new application is listed as a 371 of the PCT, rather than a continuation of the PCT.

As the family grows, AppColl correctly generates the con/div/CIP continuity type in ADSs for subsequent applications, but continues to improperly use the 371 continuity type for the first application coming from the PCT. This results in our paralegals and practitioners having to remember to double check the continuity type in the first nonprovisional application in any string of applications that includes a PCT--this should not be necessary.

Can this be corrected, so that AppColl generates the ADS based on the case type of the US application for every case including ones where the most recent benefit claim is to a PCT application?

    • Matter Status "Abandonment Pending"

It would be immensely helpful to have a matter status for use when a client instructs abandonment, but for which abandonment has not yet occurred. Can a status of "Abandonment Pending" or something similar be made available for use?

    • IDS Reference Count

On the SB-08, please have AppColl number the refs in the column provided. It would not have to be cumulative, but for each IDS if he refs were numbered it would be most helpful for calculating the IDS size fees.

    • RE: IDS Reference Count

@gregg_appcoll, yes. They are numbered within each category. Can it be sent to number cumulatively for the entire SB/08? Thank you.
