API

Hi everyone,
I'm probably not the first one to ask this but it seems that AppColl has no API.
Setting up one could overcome the following:- we could integrate some patent dataviz directly in our firm's tool,
- since AppColl has no on-premise option, the API could allow us to automatically save the data on our server (probably a bit more academic than automatically downloading a csv file).
Thanks,
Alexandre

Hi Richard - setting up periodic reports is the way to go for exporting data. This can be sent to your SFTP server, S3 buckets or traditional email.
You can also send data to our SFTP server, which we can upload into your account. You would need to reach out if this route is something you're considering.
We hope this helps.

@gregg_appcoll What about just inbound API, so it allows to add data or remove records or update records, but doesn't allow to retrieve data? Would that be an option? I ask because as I work on integrating AI into my processes I would like simple tasks to just be done through an API instead of having to use some Robotic Process Automation to go through the Human Interface.

@gregg_appcoll I also would have liked an API, but I can understand how it opens a whole new set of concerns regarding security, and although I can understand that concern, I would point out that many systems -- Including financial systems with millions of dollars on the line -- have solved this; typically with a key generation. Lacking that I will look into setting up periodic reports, or is that something that I need to request AppColl to do on the backend.

Hi Alexandre,
We can send your data periodically to your server, via scheduled reports. Unfortunately, we do not have plans to introduce an API for security reasons.
Thanks.
